Cusco, day 1

Today involved another long bus journey. We got to the bus station around 7.30, scheduled to set off at 8.00, but didn't get going until 8.30. This time we had been upgraded to first class (for only 5 soles/£1.25, what a bargin!) so we had massive seats, which is always handy on a 7 hour bus ride. It actually went pretty fast though, Katie and I played word games, then I had a bit of a read and we were to Cusco, the Inca capital.

We arrived around 3.30, so didn't have time for much more than a bit of a walk round, until we got to a restaurant overlooking the plaza de armas/main square. The food was very nice, but took ages to come.

Afterwards we went to a shop to buy gear for camping on the Inca Trail. I got a mid weight North Face jacket for about £20! (Yeah, it's almost certainly a fake, but it looks really authentic)

Afterwards we had a meeting about the Inca trail, which took an hour or so, then bed time, for our last lie in for a good few days!
